A-level Geography

Our geography A-level course will not only provide you with an awareness, knowledge and understanding of a variety of aspects of the world around us but it will also inspire and challenge you. You will study topics including: the formation of different physical environments; the causes and impacts of volcanoes and earthquakes; global migration; human rights; changing spaces, making places. Students will complete a debates topic about the future of food and hazards. You will develop a wide range of intellectual, practical and social skills. There will be opportunities for field trips.

Subject Specific Entry Requirements

In addition to the standard entry requirements, the following subject entry criteria should be met: 5 in GCSE geography if taken; 5 in GCSE English

This Course Will Lead to

Geography A-level is perfect preparation for anybody who wants to study geography, environmental science or more specific subjects such as oceanography or geology at university. It leads to a wide range of careers options from architecture to law and tourism to meteorology. Employers particularly value geographical skills.
