Welcome to the Business & Economics Department. Our team of specialist and experienced teachers deliver a range of courses: GCSE Business, GCSE Economics and Cambridge National level 2 Business at Key Stage 4 and A-level Business, A-level Economics and Cambridge Technical Level 3 Business at Key Stage 5.
Business and economics are dynamic and ‘living’ subjects making them relevant and topical in today’s world. As a department we aim to develop students’ awareness and natural curiosity of the business environment and economic climate around them. Our core values are ‘courage, commitment and compassion’.
We build confidence in our students to challenge how things are done, to constantly question and innovate.
We illustrate how business and economics real-world figures have reached their goals through perseverance to achieve success.
We instil in our students an understanding of the moral values that form the foundation of our learning community and consider how social and ethical values affect business and economic thinking.
Through studying our subjects, we develop students’ communication, team-working, analytical and evaluation skills and encourage them to become effective and independent learners.
We provide opportunities for students to engage in activities that enable them to develop their self-confidence, employability, and enterprise skills.
