The study of History will stretch and develop your academic skills, such as your ability to use knowledge, analyse evidence and evaluate interpretations. It will deepen your understanding, not only of the past, but also of the world we live in today. It is useful in a wide range of careers such as the legal profession, the civil service, teaching, local government, politics, and in pressure groups and charities. Employers particularly value history because of its academic rigour and the skills it promotes.
“An incredibly interesting course which offers skills which will be useful in so many areas in later life. It’s a challenging subject but definitely the most rewarding!”
